Personalized Services

At Life in Focus Therapy, I help children, teens, and adults find clarity, build resilience, and feel more connected—to themselves, their relationships, and the life they want to lead. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy is a space to pause, reflect, and move forward with intention.

How We Work Together

Every therapy journey begins by exploring what brought you in and what sort of changes, insight, or healing you are hoping to gain from our work together. We will look together at your strengths, supports, and current coping strategies, as well as the emotional triggers and patterns that may be getting in the way. From there, we build practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and supported in daily life.

While my overall approach is guided by EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), the early stages of therapy may include strategies from a variety of approaches such as CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and expressive arts to tailor our work to your needs.

Depending on your goals, therapy may include:

• Mindfulness and emotional regulation tools

• Strategies to shift unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs

• Creative and expressive approaches for insight and self-discovery

• Play-based techniques for children to explore and express

• Strengths-based, goal-oriented support to help you move forward

For some clients who are interested in deeper or longer lasting healing or change, therapy may move into the next phase of the EMDR process which involves something called bilateral stimulation. EMDR’s bilateral stimulation is a highly research and evidence-based approach that allows us to gently process past experiences and core beliefs that may be influencing your present. This phase can lead to meaningful change—helping you feel more free, empowered, and balanced.

Counseling and Therapy for Educators and School Leaders in Florida

About Kimberly Beckler, LMHC

I began as a licensed therapist in 2007, with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College and a background in school-based mental health. Over the years, my professional path has included a range of leadership roles within the Orange County school system—from serving as a school principal to leading district-wide initiatives as Director of Mental Health Services

These experiences have shaped a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students, families, and the professionals who walk alongside them.

Now, through Life in Focus Therapy, PLLC, I bring the combination of clinical therapeutic experience and leadership in education—offering compassionate, personalized support grounded in lived experience and clinical expertise.

I’ve worked with students, parents, educators, and leaders navigating anxiety, grief, relationship issues, life transitions, behavioral challenges, and more — and I carry that insight into every session. In addition to individual counseling, I’m passionate about continuing my work in education and training on topics related to parenting, leadership, and mental health.

Recently, I presented on WESH 2 News’ Back to School Town Hall special, speaking on “Teens and Technology.” I was also interviewed for a segment on the importance of normalizing mental health check-ins and everyday conversations about wellness, because reducing stigma starts with how we talk. Mental health is health, and healing is possible.

Choosing the right therapist can feel overwhelming. If you’d like to talk to see if we might be a good fit, or if you have questions, I’d love to connect. Click below to schedule a free phone consultation.
